Country Financial Analyst

 

An Edmonton client is seeking a Country Financial Analyst to join their team.

Country Financial Analyst Highlights:

·         Month-End Reporting: Assist with the month-end process, which spans 5 business days. Focus on closing sales and profit numbers during the first two days, followed by preparing financial reports and consolidating data for leadership review.

·         Quarter-End & Year-End Reporting: Support "hard closes" by performing additional financial adjustments, preparing ad hoc reports, and identifying discrepancies for business discussions.

·         Variance Analysis: Conduct detailed variance analysis during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting, explaining deviations between forecasted and actual results, such as cost structure changes and sales volume variations.

·         KPI Tracking: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales growth, EBIT, and cash flow, and present financial insights to the Executive Committee and CFO.

·         Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:

·         Team Collaboration: Work closely with analysts, finance directors, and teams from HR, costing, procurement, and safety to ensure reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.

·         Safety Initiative Support: Promote the company’s "See Something, Say Something" safety initiative, fostering a culture of safety across teams.

·         Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in weekly forecasting and long-term budgeting (up to 5 years), ensuring alignment with company growth targets and presenting consolidated reports to the CFO and CEO.

·         Cost Center Reconciliation & Audit Support:

·         Cost Center Reconciliation: Reconcile 150-200 cost centers, ensuring accuracy in financial statements and adherence to IFRS standards.

·         Audit Assistance: Provide support for internal and external audit requests by preparing necessary documents and ensuring compliance with audit procedures.

·         Financial Modeling & Process Improvement:

·         Model Review & Improvement: Review, improve, and maintain financial models to ensure accuracy and data integrity, streamlining processes and developing templates for efficient reporting and data consolidation.

·         Qualifications:

·         Experience: 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, with a focus on variance analysis, cost reconciliation, and financial reporting.

·         Education: Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business/Commerce.

·         Certification: CPA designation or near completion.

·         Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of IFRS compliance standards.

·         Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP and advanced MS Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, SUMIF, sensitivity analysis, large data consolidation).

·         Collaboration: Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including HR, procurement, and safety, to ensure accurate reporting.

·         Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.

 ·         Equipment Used:

·         Software: SAP

·         Advanced MS Excel Skills: Proficiency in functions such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF, sensitivity analysis, and large data consolidation.

Country Financial Analyst Hours & Wage

·         $85,000 – 90,000/ year

·         Monday to Friday | 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
