Desktop and Purchasing Analyst

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Desktop and Purchasing Analyst to join our client's Information Systems team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing desktop support, troubleshooting, and configuration of corporate operating systems, applications, and equipment. You will also handle purchasing tasks, including sourcing and acquiring hardware and software. Additionally, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders, escalate complex issues as necessary, and contribute to various projects. Responsibilities:

Desktop Support:

  • Install, configure, and support corporate operating systems, applications, and equipment.

  • Respond to support requests via phone calls, emails, faxes, and walk-ups.

  • Monitor and resolve issues within assigned tickets, maintaining proactive communication with customers.

  • Update tickets with detailed troubleshooting and resolution information.

  • Assist with hardware and software inventory maintenance and system configuration.

  • Collaborate with customers to understand and resolve problems, escalating to Tier 3 analysts if needed.

  • Utilize support systems, remote control tools, and technical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues.

  • Manage computer equipment shipping and receiving, and maintain equipment rooms.

  • Complete technical move/add/change requests from office staff.

  • Troubleshoot and configure printers and basic office equipment, coordinating with third-party service providers as necessary.

  • Create and deploy corporate system images and software deployments.

  • Diagnose and resolve basic network or internet-related problems.

  • Follow corporate policies for hardware and software purchase and acquisition.

  • Maintain knowledge base articles as required.

  • Stay current with application updates and industry trends.

Purchasing Analyst:

  • Manage desktop support, purchasing, and IS hardware fee queues, adhering to the C3 framework.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed hardware fee equipment lists, including monthly submissions and annual audits.

  • Log incidents and requests outside the ITSM system.

  • Review and code vendor bills.

  • Review and reconcile monthly departmental statement details.

  • Source and purchase equipment as required by the organization.

  • Manage off-lease reporting and facilitate the return, replacement, or buyout of leased equipment.

  • Research, test, and implement equipment standards to maintain an active lifecycle.

  • Quote the best pricing for purchases, ensuring fiscal responsibility.

  • May require travel for project completion.

  • Some on-call work may be required.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in desktop support and troubleshooting.

  • Proficiency in installing, configuring, and supporting operating systems, applications, and equipment.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Knowledge of purchasing processes and experience in sourcing and acquiring hardware and software.

  • Familiarity with IT inventory management.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software applications.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Knowledge of safety initiatives and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.

  • Willingness to learn and keep up with industry trends.
