Web Developer
A local South Edmonton client is searching for an Web Developer to join their team. Our client is an Edmonton-based regulatory + safety association. Our client is a one-stop home medical, wellness, and rehab store. Success in this team depends on regular collaboration, a strong understanding of their customers and offerings, and the ability to think outside the box. The Front-End Developer is responsible for creating and maintaining company websites under the direction of the Executive Team. They utilize both creativity and technical skills to build a functional and engaging user interface to optimize the customer experience. They work in a strongly collaborative environment to develop the Company brand.
Salary: 65K+/year
Web Developer Responsibilities:
Developing, testing, and maintaining user interfaces to deliver on and adapt to e-commerce objectives and SEO strategy
Managing and maintaining omnichannel integrations across the Shopify App ecosystem, CRM, and ERP
Collaborating with the Executive Team to develop, translate, implement and ensure the feasibility of new UI designs and interactive front-end experiences
Providing ad hoc technical support, testing on releases
Developing, maintaining, and ensuring site elements are consistent with website style guides that deliver a consistent omnichannel experience to the customer
Developing interactive interfaces that deliver an accessible, intuitive, and convenient user experience, following best practices and industry trends
Developing and testing new features and third-party applications
Analyzing website data and customer responses to optimize traffic and conversions in collaboration with other digital asset and marketing personnel
Researching and implementing trending UI UX design strategies
Collaborating with other marketing personnel in conducting and implementing results from market analysis to increase e-commerce revenue
Collaborating with other marketing personnel to create on-brand content and product listings to optimize search engine rankings
Contributing to personal and work environment safety by identifying safety hazards to the Operations Managers and Joint Health & Safety Committee and complying with the Company’s Occupational Health & Safety and other Policies & Procedures

Web Developer Requirements:
2+ years professional development experience
Diploma or equivalent in relevant field preferred
Experience developing in Shopify using Liquid strongly preferred
Fluency in HTML, Javascript/jScript, CSS/SASS, XML, Liquid
Familiarity with Shopify’s APIs and third-party applications
Experience building quality, responsive layouts with smooth interactions, transitions, and animations
Proficiency with version control systems
Awareness of web performance best-practice, development for accessibility, and SEO
Experience with cross-browser and device testing
Creativity and design-focused thinking
Experience creating storyboards and website mapping
Strong understanding of UI UX fundamentals and drive to research UI UX trends and design strategies
Proven experience with graphic design programs (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver)
Proficient in using and manipulating databases (Excel, MySQL)
Experience setting up development and staging environments
Familiarity with domain management and DNS records
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills with strong ability to prioritize workload independently
Excellent organization and time and document management skills
Strong ability to work well in a team, work efficiently, and follow and give direction
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project, collaborative environment
