Controller
An Edmonton client seeks a Controller to join their team.
Controller Highlights:
· We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to manage and oversee all financial processes, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. The ideal candidate will be a CPA-designated professional with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field, responsible for providing timely financial reports, reconciling bank and credit card statements, and maintaining efficient file retrieval systems. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing financial operations.
· Key Responsibilities:
· Financial Reporting: Provide timely and accurate financial reports as requested by the Owner/General Manager.
· Accounts Receivable/Payable: Process accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions efficiently, ensuring all entries are accurate and up to date.
· Payment Processing: Accept and record payments, preparing them for deposit.
· Expense Reporting: Complete Visa expense reports and manage all relevant documentation.
· Bank Reconciliation: Prepare and make bank deposits and reconcile bank statements and credit card statements.
· Information Requests: Respond in a timely and professional manner to internal and external requests for financial information.
· File Management: Set up and maintain both hard copy and digital file retrieval systems for efficient record-keeping and access.
· Government Remittances: Maintain and remit government reports and remittances, including WCB, ensuring compliance with regulations.
· Payroll Processing: Complete payroll tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in employee payments.
· Benefit Plan Management: Administer and remit the Administrator Benefit Plan.
· Skills and Qualifications:
· CPA Designation: Required to handle advanced financial processes and reporting.
· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Related Field: Strong academic background in accounting or finance.
· Attention to Detail: Precision in reconciling statements, managing payroll, and processing financial transactions.
· Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of accounting software and financial management tools.
· Organizational Skills: Ability to set up and maintain effective file management systems.
· Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to handle internal and external financial inquiries.
· Compliance and Regulation: Strong understanding of government remittances, WCB, and benefit plan administration.

· Monday to Friday – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
· $100,000 - $120,000/year
