An Edmonton client is searching for a Sr. Manager, Tax Reporting & Compliance to join their team.

Sr. Manager, Tax Reporting & Compliance Highlights:

·         Overview: As a Senior Manager,Tax Reporting & Compliance, you will play a crucial role in managing complex Canadian tax compliance, provisions, and disclosures. Leading a team of two direct reports, you will provide effective leadership to develop, coach, and mentor staff while ensuring overall tax compliance and timely payments. We are seeking a highly experienced individual with a strong background in Canadian corporate tax, excellent leadership skills, and a demonstrated ability to conduct thorough tax research, provide well-supported conclusions, and proactively identify and address tax issues.

·         Responsibilities:

·         Manage complex Canadian tax compliance, provisions, and disclosures, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements.

·         Provide effective leadership to a team of two direct reports, including development, coaching, and mentorship.

·         Ensure overall tax compliance and timely payments, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders as needed.

·         Conduct thorough tax research on complex issues and provide well-supported conclusions and recommendations.

·         Proactively identify tax issues, provide recommendations, and handle audits in collaboration with internal and external partners.

·         Oversee intercompany transactions and analyze business opportunities for tax implications, ensuring compliance with transfer pricing regulations.

·         Review GST & HST compliance and complex tasks, offering recommendations for process improvements and risk mitigation.

·         Coordinate tax compliance efforts across departments and suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

·         Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including tax authorities, auditors, and consultants.

·         Ensure compliance with professional requirements and standards, providing guidance and support to team members as needed.

·         Implement EIFEL tax legislation and manage transfer pricing arrangements effectively.

·         Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

·         Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) with completed In-Depth Tax Program.

·         Minimum of 5 years of post-In-Depth Tax Program experience in Canadian corporate tax.

·         At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role, demonstrating strong leadership abilities.

·         Extensive knowledge of Canadian tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.

·         Proven ability to conduct thorough tax research, analyze complex issues, and provide well-supported conclusions and recommendations.

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

·         Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Sr. Manager, Tax Reporting & Compliance Hours & Wage

·         8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday

·         $140,000/year
