Assistant Controller
An Edmonton client is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their team.
Assistant Controller Highlights:
· The Assistant Controller will play a vital role in overseeing the financial operations and ensuring compliance within an international group of companies. This position involves consolidated financial statement review, project accounting, and facilitating audits, among other responsibilities.
· Financial Statement Review and Analysis:
· Conduct consolidated financial statement review and analysis for an international group of companies.
· Project Accounting and Performance:
· Collaborate with operations teams on project accounting, performance tracking, and reporting.
· Audit Facilitation:
· Serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
· Facilitate and coordinate the audit process internally.
· Tax Filings and Compliance:
· Assist in the preparation of tax filings across various jurisdictions.
· Manage regulatory compliance and month-end closing processes.
· Transaction Oversight:
· Review, approve, and prepare transactions within the area of oversight.
· Account Reconciliations:
· Oversee the completion of various account reconciliations, including monthly subledger reviews.
· Forecasting and Budgeting:
· Assist in the preparation of forecasting and budgeting processes.
· Financial Expertise and Support:
· Provide financial expertise to operational teams on project-related inquiries.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration:
· Work cross-functionally with other departments to coordinate improvement initiatives.
· Implement accounting practices as needed.
· Qualifications:
· Experience:
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting.
· At least 2 years in a supervisory position.
· Skills:
· Experience with full cycle accounting is essential.
· Proficiency with NetSuite and Power BI reporting tools is a plus.
· Education and Certification:
· CPA designation required.
Assistant Controller Hours & Wage
8:00 am to 5:00 pm – Monday to Friday
$90,000 - $120,000/ hour
