Tax Analyst- Indirect & International

 


An Edmonton client is searching for a Tax Analyst – Indirect & International to join their team.

Tax Analyst Highlights:

·         Overview: We seek a diligent and detail-oriented Tax Analyst to join our tax department. The Tax Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting various tax-related activities, including special projects, tax filings, compliance, documentation, and communication with other departments. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of tax regulations and laws.

·         Key Responsibilities:

·         Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and standardization.

·         Prepare detailed memos and documentation for tax-related projects and initiatives.

·         Assist the Tax Manager in preparing and filing tax returns for foreign affiliates (T1134), non-arms length transactions (T106), and non-resident returns (T4A-NR).

·         Ensure compliance and accurate documentation for cross-border transactions.

·         Communicate effectively with other departments to document transactions and resolve issues promptly.

·         Prepare weekly presentations highlighting variances and updates in tax-related matters.

·         Provide support in handling GST and HST sales tax matters.

·         Conduct research using various sources including the Income Tax Act, luxury tax regulations, and global tax laws to support tax planning and decision-making processes.

·         Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

·         Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in tax analysis or related roles.

·         Strong understanding of tax regulations and laws, including familiarity with the Income Tax Act, luxury tax regulations, and global tax principles.

·         Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

·         Proficiency in preparing tax filings and documentation.

·         Ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly and effectively with stakeholders.

·         Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

·         Experience with GST, HST, and other sales tax matters preferred.

·         Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

·         CPA Designated or in the progress of writing the CFE in 2024

 

Tax Analyst Hours & Wage: 

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

  • $70,000 – $100,000/year
