Sr. Estimator
An Edmonton client is searching for a Sr. Estimator to join their team.
Sr. Estimator Highlights:
· Initial Familiarization (First 30 Days):
· Learn and understand our software systems.
· Assist with closing bids, sending invitations, and reviewing specifications.
· Get settled into the team's workflow.
· Early Leadership (First 60 Days):
· Lead an estimation project.
· Manage the invite list, takeoff review, and specification review.
· Build out the trade list.
· Assist on closing days, define scope requirements, clarify gaps, and handle 24-hour post-tender document submissions if required.
· Progressive Responsibility (First 90 Days):
· Continue the responsibilities from the initial period.
· Transition estimates to the project management teams.
· Long-Term Goals (By One Year):
· Independently close projects with minimal supervision.
· Participate in document and scope reviews.
· Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
· Win/loss ratio.
· Estimation accuracy percentage.
· Backlog signed and backlog lead tracking with the business development team.
· Maintain a backlog target of $20 million, increasing to $45 million by August 1.
· Manage over $200 million in leads.
· Workload and Estimation:
· Handle approximately 4 estimates at any given time, pending closing dates.
· Minimal responsibility for takeoffs, as these are largely handled by the QT team via Bluebeam.
· Approximately 10-15% of jobs will require personal involvement in takeoffs.
· Coordination and Documentation:
· Participate in handoffs with project management teams, focusing on tender submissions and general contractor cost timelines.
· Request bonds, insurance documents, and tender package requirements.
· Involved in major change orders, while minor ones will be handled by the project management team.
· Provide insight into material yields and scope figures, assisting the project team and reviewing larger takeoffs conducted by the QT team.
Sr. Estimator Hours & Wage
· 6:00 am – 2:00 pm – Monday to Friday
· $90,000 - $150,000/year
