Director of Safety

An Edmonton client is searching for Director of Safety to join their team.

Director of Safety Highlights:

·         Project Safety Support and Mentorship

·         Corporate Safety Strategy

·         Position Description:

·         Update the corporate safety program as required.

·         Set standards and expectations for all employees' required safety training and certification.

·         Ensure alignment with and possession of COR certification.

·         Enforce Keller’s safety program as required and appropriate.

·         Build out the Commercial Projects division.

·         Stay aware of industry standards and take necessary steps to ensure Keller's compliance.

·         Communicate safety expectations to clients, staff, and subtrades through safety orientations and attendance at all project kickoffs.

·         Maintain a site visit schedule, enforce safety standards through compliance audits, and provide guidance to staff on areas for improvement.

·         Manage safety materials and assets.

·         Implement an effective WCB Injury Management Program.

·         Create and execute safety training plans.

·         Track and report all safety metrics as required.

·         Key Responsibilities:

·         Develop and lead the safety culture within the organization.

·         Oversee the COR certified corporate safety program, ensuring compliance with current and new safety standards.

·         Act as the outward face to clients, staff, and subtrades in matters related to safety.

·         Participate in safety orientations and attend project kickoffs.

·         Conduct ongoing audits and provide guidance to staff at various sites.

·         Contribute to the growth of the Commercial Projects division.

·         Stay informed about industry standards and ensure organizational compliance.

·         Effectively communicate safety expectations to clients, staff, and subtrades.

·         Manage safety materials, assets, and training plans.

·         Lead the implementation of an effective WCB Injury Management Program.

·         Set and enforce standards for safety training and certification.

·         Align and enforce safety standards across all levels of the organization.

·         Track and report safety metrics to relevant stakeholders.

Director of Safety Hours: 

·         Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
