Intermediate Site Development Engineer

An Edmonton client is seeking an Intermediate Site Development Engineer to join their team.

Intermediate Site Development Engineer Highlights:

·         Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities effectively.

·         Oversee the entire project lifecycle, including planning, preliminary design, detailed design, tendering, construction administration, and post-construction activities.

·         Ensure junior staff remain focused and productive, providing guidance to two or more junior technical staff.

·         Meet with clients regularly, providing updates and maintaining strong client relationships.

·         Coordinate with clients, approving authorities, discipline leads, and the public as needed.

·         Focus on design during the winter months and transition to a construction focus in the summer, with design work continuing year-round.

·         Prepare site development plans, including earthworks balance, drainage design, underground piping design, and access changes.

·         Use common software tools such as Word, Excel, Civil 3D, and Ajera by Deltek ERP system.

·         Calculate quantities and unit price costs and compile estimates aligned with bid schedules.

·         Ensure project revisions and updates follow the quality management process outlined in the PPMP by APEGA.

·         Coordinate QA/QC programs, often in collaboration with external geotechnical consultants.

·         Conduct inspections, monitor repairs, and schedule work for Construction Completion Certificate (CCC) or Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC).

·         Ensure compliance with stringent erosion and sediment control requirements, particularly in the City of Calgary.

·         Manage engineering budgets ranging from $10,000 to $1 million, with most projects under $100,000.

·         Track internal project budgets using Ajera by Deltek ERP system.

·         Ensure client satisfaction, project profitability, and alignment with company values are met as key performance indicators.

·         Implement creative solutions, such as using irrigation from stormwater management ponds and innovative grading designs to minimize material import/export costs.

·         Write stormwater management reports, including modeling with PCSWWM or XPSTORM.

·         Qualifications:

·         Education and Certification:

·         A bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.

·         Professional membership in APEGA with a P.Eng. or P.L.(Eng.) designation, or professional membership in ASET with a C.E.T. designation.

·         Minimum of 2 years of site development experience.

·         Experience with stormwater management report writing and modeling with PCSWWM or XPSTORM.

·         Proficiency in Word, Excel, Civil 3D, and Ajera by Deltek ERP system.

·         Strong organizational and project management skills.

·         Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

·         Ability to work independently and manage junior staff effectively.

Intermediate Site Development Engineer Hours & Wage

·         Monday to Friday – 8:00 am to 5:30 pm

·         $90,000 - $120,000/year
