Manager of Treasury and Asset- Liability Management

 

An Edmonton client is seeking a Manager of Treasury and Asset-Liability Management to join their team.

Manager of Treasury and Asset-Liability Management Highlights:

·         Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manager of Treasury and Asset-Liability Management (ALM) to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing policies, managing funding strategies, conducting financial planning, overseeing risk management, and preparing comprehensive reports. This role requires a strong background in Treasury and Risk Management, with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and financial modeling.

·         Key Responsibilities:

·         Policies and Procedures:

·         Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure Treasury and ALM activities comply with Company and regulatory standards (e.g., OSFI Liquidity Adequacy Requirements (LAR), OSFI Capital Adequacy Requirements (CAR), OSFI B-6 – Liquidity Principles, OSFI B-12 – Interest Rate Risk Management).

·         Funding:

·         Collaborate with the CFO and VP of Finance on evaluating financing proposals, including deposit-taking strategies and pricing.

·         Prepare monthly reporting for the Company’s lenders, including lending covenants and servicing reports.

·         Review and approve payment registers for cheque, wire, EFT, and ACH payments.

·         Manage drawdowns and borrowings across the Company’s financing sources, including senior credit lines, securitization funding, unsecured funding, and deposit-taking activities.

·         Planning:

·         Prepare short and long-term funding plans and strategies, including liquidity and interest rate risk modeling, for submission to the Company’s parent company and Management Controlling department.

·         Manage and develop financial models and conduct internal validations (e.g., customer payment behavior modeling, cash flow forecast modeling).

·         Review cash flows to ensure sufficient funds are available to meet operational requirements and comply with regulatory standards (e.g., liquidity coverage ratio).

·         Recommend purchases of financial instruments to manage the Company’s high-quality liquid assets buffer and test monetization in accordance with regulatory requirements.

·         Recommend interest rate risk hedging strategies aligned with the Company’s risk appetite policies.

·         Risk Management:

·         Work with the CFO on the preparation of the Company’s Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP).

·         Collaborate with the CFO on the preparation and execution of the Company’s Liquidity Contingency Plan (LCP).

·         Partner with the risk department to conduct liquidity and interest rate risk stress tests.

·         Establish liquidity, capital, and interest rate risk limits with the risk department for inclusion in the Company’s risk appetite.

·         Recommend financial risk optimization strategies to the CFO.

·         Reporting:

·         Prepare reports and presentation materials for the Company’s Asset-Liability Committee (ALCO) and Board of Directors.

·         Conduct derivative hedge effectiveness testing and fair valuation for the Management Controlling department.

·         Prepare external and internal regulatory ALM reports, including liquidity coverage ratio, net stable funding ratio, net cumulative cash flow, risk-based capital ratios, liquidity gaps, and net interest income sensitivities.

·         Other Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Develop learning plans to align skills and competencies with position requirements.

·         Maintain awareness of market and economic developments that may impact customer behavior or the Company’s earnings profile.

·         Stay current with changes in prudential regulations that may affect the Company’s Treasury and ALM activities.

·         Manage the Company’s funds transfer pricing program.

·         Perform other related duties as requested by the CFO or VP Finance.

·         Qualifications:

·         Experience:

·         Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Treasury and Risk Management.

·         Skills:

·         Strong expertise in Treasury and Risk Management.

·         Advanced knowledge of regulatory standards and financial modeling.

·         Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

·         Strong communication and presentation skills.

·         Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

·         Proficiency in financial reporting and risk management tools.

Manager of Treasury and Asset- Liability Management Hours & Wage

·         Monday to Friday – 8:00 am to 5:30 pm

·         $160,000/year
