Associate Income Tax Manager

 

An Edmonton client is searching for an Associate Income Tax Manager to join their team.

Associate Income Tax Manager Highlights:

·         As an Associate Income Tax Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing multiple and changing priorities within the income tax team. Your strong time management skills will be essential as you navigate through various tasks and responsibilities.

·         Absorb large amounts of data and demonstrate a keen ability to understand, analyze, and interpret complex information.

·         Develop insightful recommendations by synthesizing multiple pieces of information and exercising professional judgment.

·         Lead the preparation of annual tax returns, including a significant return which typically requires a three-month preparation period, along with approximately 23 subsidiary returns and other supplementary forms such as partnership T5013 and NR4 1135.

·         Oversee quarterly provisions, ensuring accuracy and compliance within an abridged timeline.

·         Execute two hard closes annually, involving full-blown provisions starting from the financial trial balance and calculating current tax liabilities and deferred taxes.

·         Manage consolidated income tax filings for 23 subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with company policies and regulations.

·         Serve as a self-starter, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills and effective communication within the team and with external stakeholders.

·         Maintain an action-oriented approach with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all tax-related activities.

·         Leverage high analytical competency and organizational skills to streamline processes and optimize tax strategies.

·         Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth, remaining curious and receptive to new developments in tax regulations and practices.

·         Demonstrate versatility and adaptability in handling various tasks and challenges within the income tax domain.

·         Qualifications:

·         A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (a Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred).

·         Proven experience in income tax management or related roles.

·         Strong understanding of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

·         Proficiency in tax software and financial management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

·         Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

·         Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts to diverse audiences.

·         Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and precision.

·         Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

·         Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on fostering teamwork and collaboration.

·         Commitment to professional development and continuous learning in the field of income tax management.


Associate Income Tax Manager Hours & Wage

·         08:00 AM to 05:00 PM – Monday to Friday

·         $100,000 - $110,000/year
